Tomorrow, starting at 8 am, the Public Works Department will commence repairs on a section of Lakeshore Drive between Sunnybrooke and Pond Place. Traffic control measures will be implemented to facilitate smooth movement. This repair is anticipated to be extensive. Please note that following excavation and base repair, a segment of the road will need to be closed for a few days to allow the concrete to properly set before reopening. Officer Clinton Bray received the honor of being the first Kimberling City Officer of the Year. The Officer of the Year is an extension of their Officer of the Month program, which was started in the beginning of 2023 by two Kimberling City Police Corporals to recognize the hard work and dedication of the officers. Bray started with the Kimberling City Police Department in February of 2023. In 2023, Bray had the following stats: - 105 police reports - 403 traffic stops with 236 citations and 386 warnings - 51 arrests including: - 27 drivers license offenses - 8 warrant misdemeanors - 1 warrant felony - 2 trespasses - 5 drugs - 1 assault - 3 domestic - 4 DWI alcohol In addition to his annual stats. Officer Bray completed two weeks of gruesome firearms training to become the city's Firearms Instructor. Kimberling City Police Chief Todd Lemoine said Bray being recognized as Officer of the Year showcases his achievements and commitment to the community. "We wanted to ensure the citizens whom we serve are aware of (the) commitment to excellence, productivity, and distinct achievements (of our officers). The overall goal is to inspire acts of kindness, and professional law enforcement service and to strengthen the trust between the citizens and officers whom we serve,” Lemoine said. “We went a step further to recognize the officer who has excelled the entire year! Our Officer of the Year was the last officer hired in February 2023. He is quickly approaching a successful year under his belt. We, as a team, are excited about his growth, considering his accomplishments over the last 11 months. “Officer Bray has been a tremendous asset to our police department. He immediately became a part of our family and hit the ground running! He is professional, ambitious and has a humorous personality.” The Officer of the Month program was started by Kimberling City Police Corporals Kregel and Boillot. The Officer of the Month/Year Program started shortly after the beginning of 2023. These corporals wanted to be able to recognize the officers. “Every day, the city of Kimberling City Police Department officers perform extraordinary acts in service to our community. But too often, these acts are not properly recognized,” Lemoine said. “The Officer of the Month initiative was developed by the team's supervisors Corporal Kregel and Corporal Boillot. It was put into motion to recognize an Officer who went above and beyond the call of duty. They wanted to ensure that Kimberling City Police Officers receive the recognition they deserve when they exceed our expectations. Not to mention, sharing statistics of proactive community policing.” Boillot said he is proud of his brother in blue and is happy Bray has received this distinction within the department. “It is unbelievable that you have been with the city of Kimberling City Police Department for only eleven months,” Boillot said to Bray. “We are amazed by your knowledge, skills, and the potential to grow within the department. Congratulations on your excellent performance, keep up the hard work. Our organization cannot achieve success in our goals to reach the safest city in the State of Missouri without hard-working employees like you. Thank you for the efforts and diligence that you put into your shift every time you are on duty.” Kregel said Bray is a valuable asset to their department. “Officer Bray has been a tremendous asset to our department and community. Day in and day out, Officer Bray provides essential services to our neighborhoods,” Kregel said. “With more than seven years of experience, Officer Bray brings experience, dedication, professionalism, and integrity to this department. Thank you Officer Bray for serving, for doing a job that puts others first, and for being a hero in the community.”
